Exclusive insight into the economic development globally and in Korea

In cooperation with Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), we cordially invite you to the KGCCI Economic Outlook 2018.

With the election of a new president in May 2017 and a new government in place, the lingering uncertainty came to end. Consumer confidence was rising and exports keep on being surprisingly high. But is this economic development sustainable? The Economic Outlook 2018 will give you insights into the economic development and trends for the year 2018.

In Part 1:

  • Stephan Auer, Ambassador of the German Embassy Seoul, on current developments in German-Korean bilateral relations.
  • Alexander Hirschle, Representative Correspondent at Germany Trade and Invest, on current developments in German-Korean bilateral relations and the macroeconomic outlook for Korea as well as the outlook for major industries in Korea respectively.

In Part 2:

Company representatives and other experts will discuss “The Future of Work in Korea”.

Korea has been a high labor cost country for quite a while and policies under the new government as well as workers’ expectations are driving this development further. This brings up questions, how companies in Korea can cope with this development and if Korea remains a good place for investors in the long run.

  • Mr. Oliver Grohmann, Corporate Vice President, Head of Human Resources, Global Business Division of Hyundai Capital
  • Prof. Dr. Young-bum Park, former President of Human Resources Development Service of Korea
  • Mr. Sven Schwersensky, Resident Representative of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung
  • Mr. Markus Stehle, Co-CEO of Mando Hella Electronics Group
