This Korean-German bilateral expert meeting discusses the topic of wind energy regarding political and regulatory framework conditions, status and perspectives of offshore wind energy as well as questions of public acceptance.

Background and objective of the event:

With the aim of significantly increasing the use of renewable energies and phasing out nuclear energy power, South Korea and Germany face similar energy policy challenges and opportunities. As a renewable energy source, wind energy plays an important role in this transformation and, especially with regard to offshore wind energy, interest and planning in Korea have increased significantly in recent times. This expert meeting serves the exchange of experience on the topic of wind energy between experts from both countries. Political and regulatory framework conditions, status and perspectives of offshore wind energy as well as questions of social acceptance and participation of the local population will be discussed.
