Following the major transformation of Korea’s criminal justice system on October 2, 2026, significant changes are expected in the legal and investigative environment for businesses. The abolition of the Prosecutors’ Office and the establishment of the Prosecution Service and Major Crimes Investigation Agency represent a major shift in Korea’s criminal justice system.
These institutional changes are expected to bring significant changes to the investigation and prosecution of cases closely related to corporate management, including white-collar crime, economic crimes, fair trade violations, tax offenses, financial crimes, and major industrial accidents.
