Bae Yang-ho, CEO of BayWa r.e. Korea, a renewable energy company established by the 101-year-old German agricultural firm BayWa, discussed renewable energy in an interview with MoneyToday on May 16th as part of the [Sustainable Future] series.
BayWa, originally a traditional agricultural company, ventured into the renewable energy sector to address climate change and fulfill its corporate social responsibility. The Korean subsidiary is focusing primarily on solar and onshore wind projects, while also preparing to enter the offshore wind and ESS markets.
In the interview, CEO Bae emphasized the need for strong government policies and improvements in grid infrastructure to expand the adoption of renewable energy in Korea. He also highlighted the importance of establishing guidelines to resolve issues related to community acceptance.
