Robert Habeck, German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy, will visit South Korea as the first stop of his Asian tour. Before departing, he stated, "Our goal is to deepen cooperation in the areas of business, economic security, and climate, as well as to tap into new potentials." After visiting South Korea, Habeck will head to China, with which Germany conducted 250 billion euros in trade in 2023.
German and Korean companies collaborate on research and development in areas such as electric vehicles and hydrogen. South Korea has strengths in semiconductors and batteries. Martin Henkelmann, head of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce, said, "Korean consumers are highly interested in the latest technology products, and companies are eager to adopt cutting-edge technologies in their production processes and products."
