As South Korea and Germany celebrate 140 years of bilateral relations, the chancellor's historic visit on May 21 for a summit with President Yoon Suk Yeol holds immense significance. This summit highlights the strong partnership between the two countries, opening doors for new economic and collaborative opportunities. The primary goal of the summit is to deepen economic cooperation, building upon Germany's substantial investments in South Korea. Impressively, Germany has invested a total of $14.6 billion in South Korea from 1962 to 2020.

In addition, Dr. Henkelmann emphasizes the importance of the 5th Korean-German Energy Day on May 26 in Busan, which showcases their joint efforts in advancing sustainable energy solutions. This event contributes to a greener future and strengthens cooperation between the two nations.
