At the recently co-hosted 2025 Korea–Germany Climate & Environment Conference by KGCCI, Dietmar Gründig, Director and Head of Industry and Trade at the German Energy Agency (dena), discussed in an interview with Money Today the positive impact of the energy transition on the industrial sector and the potential for cooperation between Korea and Germany in this field.
In this interview, Dietmar Grundig, Director and Head of Industry and Trade, the German Energy Agency (dena) emphasized that combining regulation, market incentives, and government support is key to achieving industrial decarbonization. He noted that despite challenges such as hard-to-electrify processes and the need for green hydrogen, German industries are preparing through electrification, hydrogen adoption, and digital energy management. He also highlighted carbon contracts for difference (CCfD) as a key tool and suggested cooperation with Korea in hydrogen technologies and energy-management systems.
