Marie Antonia von Schönburg Designated as New CEO of KGCCI

The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) has designated Marie Antonia von Schönburg as its next CEO and President.

(Seoul, March 31, 2025) The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) has designated Marie Antonia von Schönburg as its next CEO and President. 

With over two decades of experience in international business relations, von Schönburg has been fostering collaboration between German and foreign enterprises. Most recently, she served as Chief delegate at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka, following her work as Head of the Barcelona Delegation, Deputy Director and Head of Membership and Events at the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain.  

A vastly experienced expert in public relations and membership management, von Schönburg holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Passau in Germany and studied International Marketing at University College Dublin in Ireland. She completed her MBA in ThePower Business School in 2022. 

Looking forward to assuming her role, von Schönburg stated, “I am honored to lead KGCCI. As the bridge between German and Korean businesses, KGCCI plays a crucial role in fostering economic collaboration and innovation. I look forward to working with our members and partners to spark fresh collaborations and strengthen our impact in both markets.” 

Hyun-Nam Park, Chairperson of KGCCI, welcomed the appointment, stating, “von Schönburg’s vast experience and vision will be a great asset as we continue to strengthen the ties between Korea and Germany, driving innovation, and supporting our members in a rapidly changing business environment.”  

Since its founding in 1981, KGCCI has been the official representative of German business in Korea, serving a network of around 500 member companies. As the primary point of contact for German and Korean businesses exploring bilateral opportunities, KGCCI and its subsidiary KGCCI DEinternational provide professional market entry and expansion services. KGCCI is part of the global German Chamber Network Abroad (AHK), which spans 93 countries, with over 150 offices and 50,000 members worldwide.
