Marie Antonia von Schönburg, President and CEO of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI), and Katharina Viklenko, Director and Korea Correspondent for Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), recently shared insights on the GTAI podcast channel Weltmarkt regarding Korea's cultural influence (K-Culture), its high-tech industrial ecosystem, and strategic economic cooperation between South Korea and Germany.
They emphasized that Korea is a key market boasting outstanding innovation speed and global competitiveness in future industries such as semiconductors, batteries, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI), while simultaneously strengthening its national image and trust through a robust global cultural presence, including K-Pop and K-Beauty. They also noted that Germany's exceptional engineering, precision technology, and research capabilities, combined with Korea's fast execution, demonstrate high complementarity, enabling enterprises from both nations to forge close cooperative synergies in global supply chains and advanced technology sectors.
Furthermore, they noted that the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK), to be held in Seoul from October 29 to 31, will serve as a crucial opportunity for both countries to further solidify their economic and policy partnerships amid geopolitical shifts and supply chain diversification.
