The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI, President & CEO Marie Antonia von Schönburg), supported by Infineon Technologies and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), named ModigenceVision the winner of the Korea-Germany Connect: AI Startup Pitching Challenge 2026 on July 15 at KITA Startup Branch in Seoul. The startup will now advance to the main stage of APK 2026 this October.
Selected from five Korean AI startup finalists, ModigenceVision stood out for its 3D vision infrastructure technology, combining 3D camera modules, edge AI computing and vision software into a single end-to-end solution for robotics and industrial automation. Founded in 2023 by engineers with more than 15 years of experience in advanced 3D sensing and camera manufacturing, the company serves customers across robotics, manufacturing, logistics, mobility and medical technology. It has already deployed more than 3,000 systems and recently received international recognition as winner of the Supernova Challenge at GITEX Africa 2026 and a Top 6 finalist in the Infineon Startup Challenge Asia 2026.
The competition, part of KGCCI's startup initiative Korea-Germany Connect, brought together five finalists—CUBIG, HYPER Network, Impactive AI, ModigenceVision Co., Ltd., and Tommoro Robotics—demonstrated the breadth of Korea's AI innovation ecosystem, with solutions spanning enterprise AI, advanced manufacturing, robotics, spatial intelligence, and digital healthcare.
A distinguished jury comprising representatives from the German Embassy Seoul, KITA, Infineon Technologies, AUMOVIO, Mercedes-Benz, and The Korea Herald evaluated on technology and innovation, market potential and traction, Germany/EU market fit and corporate use case relevance, business model sustainability, and pitch effectiveness.
As the winner, ModigenceVision, will pitch live on the main stage of the 19th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK 2026), to be held in Seoul from October 29 to 31. The conference is expected to convene around 1,000 high-level leaders from business, government, and academia across Asia and Germany, including the German Chancellor and the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy. The startup will also be invited to exclusive evening networking events during APK, connecting with senior executives and decision-makers from Germany and across the region.
Marie Antonia von Schönburg, President and CEO of KGCCI, said, “Today's winner demonstrated both technological excellence and strong potential to succeed on the global stage. Through APK 2026, we are proud to provide a unique platform where innovative Korean startups can connect with German industry leaders, investors, and policymakers, fostering new partnerships and international growth. We look forward to seeing ModigenceVision showcase their innovation before some of the world's leading business and government decision-makers this October.”
Daehee Kim, CEO of ModigenceVision, remarked, “We’re a global vision infrastructure company leading the Physical AI era through 3D vision and spatial intelligence technology. This event lets us showcase proven solutions to persistent environmental-perception bottlenecks — and build a bridge to real business synergy with global partners, including in Germany.”
