Train-the-Trainer Program

The Train the Trainer (TtT) is a standardized education program conducted nationwide in Germany under uniform regulations and standards. It is based on The Instructor Aptitude Regulations (AEVO), a regulation issued by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2009. This regulation defines the requirements a person must meet to be qualified as a trainer under the German Vocational Training Act.

The TtT program includes up to 100 hours of instruction, providing ample time to cover both theoretical and practical content. This ensures that learning is engaging and hands-on, and that participants are well-prepared for their role as trainers.

Training skilled workers is essential to securing the future of companies. Providing high-quality training to young professionals is a responsible, exciting, and rewarding task. For trainees, the Ausbildung is the foundation for their professional careers. For in-company trainers, it is an opportunity to pass on their expertise and years of experience. Trainers serve as a key link between the company and the trainee. They play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term viability of the company and in laying the foundation for the next generation of professionals. To fulfill this responsibility, trainers need not only job-specific knowledge but also the ability to convey it clearly. Organizing and managing training processes and monitoring trainees’ progress are complex tasks that come with many challenges.

At KGCCI, the TtT program consists of two weeks of training and two exam days (written and practical). Through this program, trainers acquire essential didactic and organizational skills. This means that qualified trainers become competent points of contact for all aspects of in-company training and ensure that the next generation of skilled workers is well-prepared for their roles.

The required competencies are structured into four fields of activity, aligned with the framework of the training process:

  1. Reviewing Ausbildung conditions and planning for Ausbildung
  2. Participate in Ausbildung preparation and trainee recruitment
  3. Operating Ausbildung
  4. Completing Ausbildung

The instructor aptitude examination (Ausbildereignungsprüfung) must include tasks based on real-life professional practice across all fields of activity. Trainers who pass the exam receive an official certificate.
