(Seoul, August 16, 2023) The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI, President & CEO Martin Henkelmann) will hold a recruitment panel discussion and information session with member companies as part of Global Talent Fair on August 22, 2023, at COEX in Seoul.

Organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Employment and Labor and hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), this fair will take place for two days starting on August 21, 2023. This is the oldest and largest event of its kind in Korea held annually for foreign-invested companies. More than 20 German companies such as Siemens, DHL, Zeiss, Continental Automotive, Wilo, Daimler Truck Korea, and Henkel will participate in the fair, bringing together over 40 HR representatives.

During ‘Job Talk Concert’ KGCCI will showcase its German-style dual vocational education program, 'Ausbildung,' which combines practical training at workplaces with theoretical education at schools. It has been operating the program in Korea since 2017 in collaboration with German automotive companies. Also, a panel of representatives from Continental Automotive, Wilo and Zeiss will give an overview of their companies and answer questions related to △recruitment process △job information △work environment △company welfare and more. Recruitment experts with extensive experience in foreign companies will share useful tips to job seekers. Participating companies as well as KGCCI itself will also conduct recruitment interviews and provide employment advice at separate booths set up at the fair.

Dr. Martin Henkelmann, President & CEO of KGCCI, said “This event will enable more active exchange between German companies and job seekers. I am convinced that many talents will get more insights about the attractivity of working for German companies, the well-known and the numerous hidden champions.”

Currently, there are over 500 German companies operating in South Korea providing thousands of jobs in the country. With Germany being South Korea's largest trading partner in the European Union (EU) and South Korea ranking as Germany's third largest trading partner in Asia, the bilateral trade volume has reached approximately $34 billion in 2022, representing 25% of the total Korea-EU trade volume, according to Korea International Trade Association.
