(Seoul, March 20, 2023) The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI, President & CEO Martin Henkelmann) is inviting innovative companies in South Korea to apply for the “9th KGCCI Innovation Awards” by July 31, 2023.

The 9th KGCCI Innovation Awards, hosted by the KGCCI and officially supported by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), was initiated in 2015 to support companies that create value in the Korean market through innovative products, processes, and technologies. The awards also aim to foster new business cooperation between Korea and Germany.

The awards are open to all companies operating in South Korea, regardless of their size and industry. To participate, companies are invited to submit their applications on the KGCCI homepage. The winners will be selected by a Korean-German panel of distinguished judges from business, academia, and research, and assessed based on the degree of innovation, market performance, impact on company performance, and benefit for society.

“South Korea is renowned for its innovative spirit, and we are always impressed by the quality and diversity of the submission we receive each year,” said Dr. Martin Henkelmann, President of the KGCCI. “The KGCCI Innovation Awards are a great opportunity for companies to showcase their achievements and gain recognition for their hard work and innovation capabilities.”

The winners will be announced at the 9th KGCCI Innovation Awards ceremony, which will take place in Seoul this November, in the presence of distinguished guests from business and politics. Winning companies can enjoy various benefits such as increased visibility, networking opportunities, and access to potential investors and partners through KGCCI’s strong business network and support. Additionally, non-member winner companies will receive one year of free KGCCI membership to leverage their exposures to German companies and Germany.

The application procedure is free of charge, and companies can apply regardless of KGCCI membership status. For more information on the KGCCI Innovation Awards, including eligibility criteria, application guidelines, and previous winners, please visit the KGGCI website (www.kgcci.com).
