May, Youngmi Kim, President of Henkel Korea and a member of KGCCI's Board of Directors, had an inspiring interview with Insight Korea to discuss Henkel Korea's corporate culture and vision. She introduced the company, its products and solutions, Henkel's recognition and influence in the Korean market, and its Songdo Plant, which serves as the Asia-Pacific production hub.
Her appointment as Country President marked a historic moment as the first female Korean national to lead Henkel Korea. The company has been consistently recognized as a 'Women-Friendly Company' for seven years. She has been dedicated to fostering sustainable growth and nurturing a positive workplace culture since taking on her role.
She is passionate about advancing female leadership. Apart from her responsibilities at Henkel, she actively participates in the Women in Korea (WIR) program, an initiative under the KGCCI. This year marks her second consecutive year of involvement.
Established in 2017, the WIR program connects female executives from various industries and countries, facilitating two-way exchanges that transcend professional backgrounds and job titles, ultimately aiming to share perspectives and create mutual benefits. She currently serves as a mentor in the mentoring program, which includes participation from female mid-level managers across diverse industries.
She offered valuable advice to young women professionals, emphasizing the importance of speaking up when they have something to express, staying attuned to their own needs and emotions, and, most importantly, maintaining a sense of relaxation in the corporate world.
