KGCCI (KGCCI, President & CEO Martin Henkelmann) and OMF Floral Art School, a renowned Korean flower art academy, held a Berufsbildung certificate presentation ceremony on July 6 in Seou, South Korea.
The "AHK Florist" certification program, organized by KGCCI and domestic flower art academies, combines elements of the German dual vocational training system, particularly in the C-level (Quality Category) according to the criteria set by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
This program covers not only theoretical knowledge but also the necessary skills and proficiency in various floral decorations. In this particular course, Torsten Mayer, an evaluator from IHK Dresden, Germany, conducted practical lessons, receiving an enthusiastic response from students, as the course emphasized structural design and creativity demanded in German floristry.
Felix Kakowsky, Vice President of KGCCI, who attended the award ceremony, applauded the students for their dedication throughout the 300-hour-long program and expressed hopes for a bright future for certified florists. He also said, "I look forward to further activation of the German vocational education program, "Berufsbildung," in Korea."
Additionally, Kang Areum (40), who achieved the highest score, received a special plaque from the KGCCI.
Meanwhile, OMF Floral Art School and Lims Flower Art Academy are currently recruiting students for the upcoming course in the second half of this year.
In 2017, following the introduction of the German two-track vocational training system, "Ausbildung," in the domestic automotive repair field, the KGCCI cooperated with renowned Korean floral art academies in 2019 to introduce the "Berufsbildung" program with German vocational education elements. So far, a total of 29 individuals have graduated as florists. The KGCCI plans to expand the German-style vocational education program to nurture even more skilled professionals in various industries and enterprises and support their continuous career development.
