„The Role of Energy Suppliers for Successful Energy Transitions in Germany and Korea “

As industry-based economies Korea and Germany face similar challenges when it comes to shaping their energy system’s future. Both countries aim to significantly reduce their carbon emissions by increasing the usage of renewable energy and energy efficiency while phasing out the use of nuclear energy and reducing the reliance on fossil fuels.

As central players in the energy system, energy suppliers face new tasks and challenges in putting energy transition policy into practice and integrating variable renewable energy into the grid; for instance, by grid expansion and the development of suitable storage and control technologies. On the other hand, energy transition, digitization and changing customer needs are opening up opportunities for new innovative business models.

The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany would like to invite you to join a Fireplace Talk on the role of energy supply companies for energy transitions in Korea and Germany discussing challenges, chances and lessons learned.  The luncheon discussion will focus on strategies and business models of energy suppliers in the light of energy transition and nuclear phase-out and will give an overview on the status and outlook of their activities in renewable generation and energy services.

This event is only for experts in the field of energy industries. To register for this event here, an invitation letter from us is required. Due to the seat-limitation, the registration follows a first come, first served basis.

Participation in the event is free; the presentations and discussion will be translated simultaneously into English/Korean.
