KGCCI and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation kindly invite you to a breakfast meeting with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Karl-Heinz Paqué, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

The elections for the European Parliament on May 26 were conducted in a climate of profound uncertainty about the future of the European Union as a whole. Populism and nationalism have grown in many countries and the attempts to implement an orderly contract-based Brexit has failed so far. This is the framework for the new European Parliament and the new Commission. The effects on the economic development of the EU and Great Britain are as unclear as the effects on production and trade. Which scenarios are likely? How far is the overseas- and world wide trade affected by the new European constellation and the Brexit drama? What might all this mean for the Korean economy and international companies in Korea?

Our speaker Professor Paqué will give his assessment on the current situation and future perspectives. Professor Paqué is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and Professor of Economics, Chair for International Economics, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and from 2010 to 2018 Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management. Inter alia he was also Minister of Finance in the German state of Saxony Anhalt.
