4th DIHK flash poll June 2020 - Economic impact of COVID-19 on the German economy
DIHK-Positionspapier - Empfehlungen für eine euro päische Industriepolitik
In a survey of around 8,500 companies in Germany, the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) assessed the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic on business activities of companies in Germany.
A normalization of business is currently not in sight for many companies as 39% of businesses do not expect a return to normal business operations until 2021. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions on the global trade, the DIHK is expecting a 15% drop in exports this year. Overall, the survey shows that a stimulus package can only solve part of the crisis and a Europe-wide effective economic re-launch package is needed to get the single market up and running again.
