KGCCI AI Startup Pitch Contest at NextRise 2024: Gateway to Global Stage at Asian-Pacific Conference

(Seoul, June 1, 2024) The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI, President & CEO Martin Henkelmann) is hosting a startup pitching competition, “AI Bridge- Connecting Korean Innovations to Global Opportunities.” This event will take place at NextRise 2024, held at COEX on June 14, 2024.

The competition aims to identify Korea’s top startup in artificial intelligence (AI). Six Korean startups will present their innovative products and solutions to a distinguished panel of international experts from international and German companies. The winner will be awarded benefits such as KGCCI membership for one year and tickets to the 10th KGCCI Innovation Awards. The winner will be the Korean nomination to the 18th Asian-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) in Delhi, India, from October 24-26, 2024. If selected from the APK jury in August, the winner will receive flight tickets and conference tickets for APK24, valued at over $2,000 each.

APK is the flagship event for business leaders, executives, and political representatives to discuss and promote economic relations between Germany and the Asia-Pacific. This upcoming startup competition, titled “Future AI-Startup Award,” offers the winner a platform to present their solutions to over 800 business leaders from Germany and Asia-Pacific. Additionally, winners will be given the chance to join a discussion with the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. They will also benefit from networking opportunities to enter various markets through the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) network, which spans 93 countries worldwide.

“As AI is transforming industries globally, KGCCI is excited to support Korean startups in showcasing their innovative solutions at an international level,” said Dr. Martin Henkelmann, President and CEO of the KGCCI. “This competition is a gateway for startups to gain global recognition and create impactful collaborations.”
